Our guest speaker on Monday night was Julie Burton, a Senior Associate and head of the Estates Team at Caldwell Martin & Cox Solicitors. Julie was introduced by Bill McGookin and the vote of thanks was given by Stephen Humphreys.
Julie spent 17 years at the NSW Crown Solicitor’s Office working primarily in the areas of tort law and employment law and has been at CMC for 6 years. A lifelong Camden local, Julie is married and has 2 daughters.
The title of Julie’s presentations was ‘’Where there’s a will….’’ and her presentation was very informative and enlightening. Julie outlined the many pitfalls in not having a will and not having a will that has been updated to allow for changed personal circumstances. Apart from the many legal complications there are potentially significant costs involved in not clearly outlining your intentions for the distribution of your estate.
