A recent guest speaker at our club was Dr Alex Buttfield, the Deputy Director and Co-Director of Emergency Medicine Training, responsible for training new emergency specialists at Campbelltown Hospital.

Dr Buttfield spoke passionately about his aim to upskill Emergency Department nurses in paediatric life support. The Advanced Paediatric Life Support course is widely recognised as the international gold standard in paediatric emergency training courses. The course has been developed for doctors, nurses and paramedics looking to increase their confidence and clinical skills in the emergency management of ill and injured children.

The initiative is already supported by the Kids of Macarthur Foundation.
