A team of dedicated Rotarians from Camden Rotary Club, together with Rotary club of Wollondilly North, Rotary club of Narellan and Rotary Club of Picton have organised a community event to help fight cancer.
This Saturday, 21st September, at the Onslow Oval, at 10am, many dedicated volunteers, friends, supporters and the local community will come together to walk side by side to raise vital funds to fight cancer. Much of this funds will make its way locally to the Ingham Institute in Liverpool, who are leading the world in unique and first class research into fighting cancer and finding a cure.
This Relay has taken months of planning and dedication to bring together the community. So far we already have over 1100 walkers registered in 77 teams! and have raised already a whopping $110,000 vital dollars. Which is well on the way to our target of $200,000.
There will be teams camping over night, there will be live entertainment on stage until late at night. It’s an electric atmosphere, one not to be missed. This year we will also have electronic lap counters for the first time. The information will be displayed on a screen as well as can be seen on your Iphone, android or smart phone. You will be able to count your laps, times, and distances. Why not challenge a friend? or your team? or pit your team against another!
It’s still not too late to join us! even if you can’t be there all day, come down, enjoy the atmosphere, walk for a lap, or ten, or a hour or three or twenty four, enjoy the music, catch up with a friend, and more importantly, help raise funds to fight cancer. We look forward to seeing you there!
